POSITION TITLE: Curriculum Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Thorough knowledge of district policies and procedures, the Mississippi College and Career Ready Standards, and state and federal regulations and laws. Skilled collecting and analyzing data. Knowledge of supervision, assessment, data decision making, curriculum, instruction, organizational patterns, school operations, and pupil services. Ability to motivate, encourage, and work with staff to ensure outstanding performance as well as good morale. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent human relations skills. EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in supervision, administration, educational leadership. Three years of successful teaching experience. Preferred prior administrative experience. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Meets Mississippi state licensure requirements in school administration. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Special requirements such as lifting heavy objects (80lbs.), walking and standing for extended periods of time and frequent climbing as required by the duties and responsibilities of the job. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Required to attend school meetings, programs and activities outside the instructional day. REPORTS TO: Superintendent or Designee TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Contract with salary and dates to be established by the Board of Education. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: May perform any combination of the essential functions shown below. ? Keeps continually informed regarding issues pertaining to local testing and evaluation of student performance, and as regards issues relating to high stakes testing as pertains to state- mandated testing within the district. ? Administers system-wide schedules for annual testing and manages the program of test security as required by state law and regulation. ? Conducts and/or coordinates in-service and pre-service briefings and training pertaining to test security issues and other issues relating to the administration of the state testing program within the district. ? Assists in the review and interpretation of test data, communication of the results of such analyses, and subsequently coordinating with the curriculum coordinator and other administrators to improve teaching and learning in the district. ? Takes responsibility for assessing community, fiscal, staff, and other factors that can account for variations in quality of teaching and learning within the district and suggests ways that these factors may be more effectively managed to improve student achievement at every level within the district. ? Prepares reports as required by appropriate administrative authority. ? Performs other duties as assigned by the superintendent or designee. ? Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position. ? Coordinates Federally Funded Consultants
